In addition to a complete wine and hamper gifting service The Wine and Hamper Company provides fully serviced temporary bars for weddings, parties and other events. We specialise in making your event go smoothly, and can cater for any occasion within the east midlands region.
Over the years we have worked in all sorts of environments, from Stately Homes, Village Halls, Marquees and Open Fields our bars really can be set up anywhere. If required Wine and Hampers can supply and erect a party tent that will accomodate the bar alongside a main event marquee, this facility is usually supplied free of charge.
The standard bar facility provides:

• Draught lager, bitter, cider and guinness
• A full range of wines and spirits
• Soft drinks
The bar can be operated as a normal cash-bar, free drinks, or we can provide a predetermined number of complimentary drinks and then revert to a pay bar. Chinese increased demand threatens traditional wine markets.
Chinese wine buyers are threatening to completely distort the fine wine market as they aggressively compete for the production of wines produced by Bordeaux’s famed vineyards. The five premier cru estates in france only produce around 190,000 bottles of wine each year and this limited production is no longer able to satisfy the thirst of the Chinese market and to keep the existing custom base in Europe adequately supplied.
The Chinese are attempting to buy the whole annual production of some of the major estates and offering prices that are much higher than the traditional markets are prepared to pay, and the major estates are finding it difficult to resist this very profitable market.
The Chinese hunger for premium wines has tripled the price of premier cru wines on the mainland in the past year, and a case of Chateau Lafite 2009 recently sold for £43,000 in Hong Kong.
The Chinese market is forecast to continue to grow strongly and experts are suggesting that the solution may well be to produce more wine in China, there is no shortage of investors, but there is risk, as any investment in a vineyard is for the next generation and is very capital intensive.

Domaine Virginie La Grande – Pinot Noir
This delightful French Regional wine is produced from 100% Pinot Noir Grapes that are grown in the Languedoc Region in limestone soil.
The Domaine Virginie la Grange Winery is constructed on the remains of a 12th century Roman Villa. Winemaker Pierre Degroote ferments this wine under temperature control, and it is aged for six months in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels.
This Pinot Noir is very well balanced between fruits and the fineness of the Pinot Varietals. It is an elegant wine with soft and harmonious aromas of red fruits, a rich velvety rounded flavour, and has an intense and beautiful colour.

VDP de l’Aude Le Sanglier de la Montagne is a soft, fruity red wine with a hint of spice. This unusual wine is produced from old vine grapes of the Carignan grape variety in the southern hills of France.
Nestled at the heart of the Cathar country, the vineyards of Vins de Pays de l’Aude are situated in the Aude department, named after the river, in a valley bordering some of the most renowned appellations of the Languedoc such as Fitou and Corbières.
This delightful French wine has 12.5% ABV and is bright ruby in colour with a nose of garrigue and red fruits. A supple, fruity wine with a hint of spice it pairs well with casseroles, pasta and most light meals. Best served at room temperature
