Make a Lasting Impression-Corporate Gifts

It is not good enough just to make an impression in the business world, it is far more important to make a lasting one.

Companies send their clients gifts in order to make a great impression but do those gifts continue to remind the client of the company that sent them?

The Wine and Hamper Company recognizes that a lasting impression can be generated through personalising wine and champagne labels, and through the employment of hamper and wine gift packaging that has an on-going use.

We can personalise wine and champagne labels with your specific message and company logo (examples of these can be seen HERE). Experience shows that wine gifts that are personalised with a company logo are remembered and talked about long after the contents are enjoyed.

A number of our wine and hamper gifts are packed in containers the have a practical after-use; this ensures that the recipient has a continuous reminder of the original gift and the organization that gifted it. We utilize jute bags and storage baskets in the packing of some of our best selling gift hampers they can be seen at www.wineandhampers.com

When the impression you want to make is a lasting one… we will help you!

The real cost of wine

This report on Uk wine prices was recently posted at corkhound.com… food for thought!

What percentage of the cost is actually paying for the wine?

“Amazingly, in the UK, over 50% of the cost of the average bottle of wine goes to the Government (with nearly £15bn paid in excise duty and VAT from the UK alcoholic drinks industry in 2007/08).

According to the Wine & Spirit Trade Association, the average cost of a bottle of wine is £4.32. Of this, £2.34 is paid to the UK Government in duty and VAT. That leaves £1.98 to cover the wine, bottle, label, cork, transportation of the wine, the shop’s margin, and all other costs that go into making and selling you a bottle of wine.

Alarmingly, it is estimated that a £4.29 bottle of wine probably contains less that 40p of wine.

But, there is some good news. Duty (but not VAT) is a fixed amount. So, if you increase your spend, you are getting more wine for your money: the more you spend, the higher proportion of your money is going into the wine. The experts seem to agree that true value is to be found between the £6 and £10 range.

But, beware of special offers. For example, for a supermarket to advertise a wine as discounted, the wine must only have been on sale at full price in one store for 28 days.”

The wines at http://www.wineandhampers.com all fall into the true value range mentioned above and are all specailly selected for both quality and value.

OFFLEY LBV PORT at Wine and Hampers

WineandHampers.com features OFFLEY LBV Port in all its premium port gift packs and in some of its luxury hampers. OFFLEY LBV is a classic and powerful Porto wine ideal to serve at the end of a good meal, on its own, with cheese or intense desserts like chocolate.

offleylbv2004.jpg OFFLEY LATE BOTTLED VINTAGE 2004 is a top quality wine of single fine year, bottled between the 4th and 6th year following harvest in the traditional L.B.V. style. It shows a very deep, intense ruby red colour and full aromatic concentration. Its aromas are very elegant and complex with predominance of full ripe red black fruit as well as balsamic aromas and cinnamon. In the mouth, it has a very good balance between acidity and tannins that give great harmony and the complexity typical of the Offley style. The good tannins structure confers the wine a characteristic profile, which can be enjoyed young and will age well for some years.

OFFLEY LBV is produced by the traditional Porto wine method. The hand-picked grapes undergo stalk removal and crushing before fermentation, under controlled temperature, with skin maceration so as to extract the best components. The addition of wine alcohol at the ideal moment sets the balance between the wine’s body and bouquet. This moment is chosen by the winemaker following strict control of fermentation temperatures and densities, the later depending on the vine variety, maturation stage and the final sweetness required.

After the harvest, the wines remain in the Douro until the following spring, when they are taken to Vila Nova de Gaia and enter Offley’s centuries-old lodges for ageing as required by Porto wine traditional ageing system. Along the years, the wines selected for this OFFLEY LATE BOTTLED VINTAGE are carefully tasted and analysed, racked from lees and all corrections deemed necessary by the tasters are carried out. The final blend results from a selection from just one good harvest, that maintains the character of the year and the Offley style, and is bottled between the 4th and 6th year, according to the Porto wine rule.
